1 and 2 TB pro m4 models get 1 extra cpu core (10 vs 9) and 16 gb ram instead of 8 gb for the 256 gb and 512 gb models.

Solid deal. Been using a 2tb 16gb ram m2 iPad Pro 12.9 I got in the fall for ~900. At that price I just had to do it. Been test driving the iPadOS 26 beta, and it's a huge leap from previous functionality. But as a non creative and just using the iPad for laptop things, I hardly notice the 16gb ram. It's nice to have, but the iPad is already so optimized for usual things. I think we are getting to the stage where an iPad can serve needs for most things a MacBook Air would, but I still would not pick this over a MacBook. Nice as a supplemental device, but I think we are at least 2 years away from the iPad being the option you choose over a MacBook. Easy example - even on the m4 iPads, you can't output external display to anything over 60hz, absolute deal breaker in terms of laptop replacement. Apps, multitasking, and overall usability are getting better for sure though.

$500 off is quite the deal, especially if you were looking for the 1TB model, it's sort of a free upgrade to 2TB! Would certainly help resale value down the road at no extra cost now.

Good deal for iPad, but doesn't list RAM amount.
At this price I'd rather get a MacBook Pro with keyboard and larger screen, with potentially more RAM

Obviously, if you're paying this much for an iPad, storage is the priority, not RAM. Which MBP with 2TB of storage can you get for $1500?

This is a good deal for the 11" model. Doesn't have the special screen and or the free engraving that you'd get from Apple directly, but it's as good as it gets. 1TB and 2TB models have 16GB RAM (vs 8TB for the smaller ones). Costco also had the 13" 2TB heavily discounted (not sure they still do). The new models probably coming in September may even cost more than RRP for the M4…

If by "special screen" you mean the nano-texture screen, then that's fine by most people who have seen both that it doesn't have it. I had the nano-texture for a couple days and unless you spend all your time in the sun or with a bright window behind you, that nano-texture basically negates the splendidness of that OLED screen. It's dull with the nano-texture screen. It needs (and I mean needs) a $20 magic cloth to clean the screen. It has a purpose but is not an option to just willy-nilly buy because it sounds cool. I returned the nano screen for the normal screen and couldn't be happier. I also looked up reviews of the nano-screen iPad and reviewers agree -- buy it only if you need it.

Yeah it's a moot point because costco doesn't sell nano texture but I wouldn't buy nano texture ipads either. People seem mixed on the feature but for me the biggest issue is how much easier it seems to be to scratch the screen as tested by youtubers like jerryrig. If you care about reflections you'll likely be carrying it around a lot, and if you do your chance of scratching the screen is also high

Jerryrig -- isn't he the YT guy that goes out of his way to scratch and destroy everything he touches?

I was just making a point that the nano-texture is not necessarily for most people.

I primarily bought it for traveling. My MacBook Pro was just too heavy to tote around when traveling. I use regular basic multitasking work with a little bit of amateur video editing for basic YouTube videos. I also decided to get it bec of the 2tb storage. My MacBook and my iPhone are all full so i need more storage!
