which part is overpriced? i think i would put word overpriced in a different context,

for example overpriced to me means there are cheaper options with that video card, cpu, and ram... and obv 18" chassis, and afaik i know not much even comes closer

vs, not worth it, because it's missing something that is crucial to you specifically. i think those are 2 different things, and for example... i have few deal breakers, such i need number pad on my keyboard, so others that don't have it, are simply excluded, no matter how cheap they are.

Show me a 5090 legion then I'll shut up. Until then this is pretty good on price. Please don't respond.

Pretty sure they meant show them the 5090 legion that is $1k less than this, and to not bother responding otherwise.

I've read it over again and I don't see that the way it was written, but that might be the case except for the fact they left out a bunch of words and used the wrong punctuation.

Sure if you have to have 18". But you can't convince me this is worth ~$1k more than the Legion with a 16" OLED. It is overpriced for these specs.
apples to oranges.... you aren't in the market for 18" so this isn't for you, clearly. For me, I use my laptop like a desktop and connect it to a ultra wide qd oled and keyboard. So the screen is a moot point. and I prefer this set up because I travel with work and can game on the go and when home can still game with the and Device. I also don't want a desktop and a pc.

So you ask for proof of a certain config, then say "Please don't respond"? Whether that config exists or not doesn't matter...the attitude to tell a person not to respond is not what this site is about. Also, is this not a Legion with a 5090?https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/la...83f50019ushttps://www.tomshardware.com/lapt...ship-specs
That's 4k! Are you joking? The context was that this wasn't a good deal compared to the Legion. There wasn't a Legion 5090 for this price! That's the context. The reason I said dont respond because there wasn't a deal like a 5090 laptop for 3k.

The fact is, what you meant and what you wrote are two different things. Maybe use the proper words and punctuation to get your point across. It helps the reader understand what you are saying.
Let me explain:
You wrote 3 sentences... "Show me a 5090 legion then I'll shut up. Until then this is pretty good on price. Please don't respond."
First sentence reads like you don't think a 5090 Legion even exists, so you're challenging someone to show you one.
Second sentence reads since there isn't a 5090 Legion, this deal is a good price.
Third sentence, you end by asking the person you were addressing to not respond.

Now that you explained what you wrote, I get it, but that's not what you wrote.

This is a gaming laptop, a Mac isn't. Different use cases for the majority of people.

no, they did release a version like that about 4-5 years ago? but it failed miserably as they didnt follow up with it. ram, ssd are upgradeable, afaik nothing else is, without massive tinkering (battery replaceable, but not upgradeable, per say as it's capped)

this 5090 may say is slightly below desktop 5080.

Dang, I thought that was the whole gimmick of the area 51 model

Would never buy a chunky Alienware but good to finally see prices are starting to drop like flies on the 5000 series laptops after holding pretty constant for the first few months of release. Even the Asus Zephyrus G16 lineup is seeing its first discounts in the last few weeks. Last week the G16 5080 went down to 3K, and now this week the 5070TI dropped to 2320. Need the 5080 to drop to 2500 and I'll be a happy camper! I can tell from the stock of my local Best Buy that even these discounted prices aren't moving stock much. Must be the economy....
I think the 50 series products are coming down in price because they are liquidating inventory for the 50 Super refresh in the Fall. Prices on desktop 50 series have also been coming down--that's my theory as to why.

I just wish this had a better screen... Would not mind paying a bit extra for an OLED display.

Over priced as in 3k is far too much for a 90 series anything. If you don't own a house and earn over 100k a year, you should not buy this. It's okay though team green will stop making consumer gpu's so we won't have to worry about poor slow fools rewarding companies like this.
LOL, "If you don't own a house and earn over 100k a year, you should not buy this."

100K in one city is like 10K in another. And "own a house?' Owning a home is not an bellwether of financial wellness (unless you own it outright or close to it). In 2025 a large percentage of people are 'house poor' while others enjoy huge disposable incomes while renting. And if $3000 is going to ruin you.....you are probably a few days away from the sheriff kicking you out of that house your bank never stopped owning.

Tell me you still live with your parents without telling me you still live with your parents Wink
