Can't select the option for $27 even though it says "1 offer from $27".

Get one and maybe youll understand. At $45 its less compelling; $27 makes it a solid buy IMHO. Kept ice for almost 3 days and just cold water cold for over 12 hours. That's what intrigued me.

Yeah but it's like some kind of weird social media status symbol, I've got YETIs and they work well,

Yeti went through the same thing though! Very expensive and a status symbol when they debuted. RTIC seems to deliver similar quality to Stanley and YETI at maybe 1/3 of the price.

1/3 the price? On Amazon and at Walmart, for instance, most colors of the RTIC 40oz are $49. Some are $30-$33 on sale. Compare to these Stanleys at $27 on sale and $45 normally... it's the RTIC that's more expensive.

RTIC 40oz tumbler is $27.99 regular price where as Yeti and Stanley only reach that used or on sale. Their normal price is $49.99. RTIC may have increased their prices but they're clearly the value brand compared to the aforementioned.

You're comparing different versions of the RTIC. The "essential tumbler", the one with no handle and no straw may be, but comparing like-to-like the equivalent 40oz (the "Road Trip") is $40-45 on their site for most colors (actually they show they're $45-50 but all are discounted by $5), some are cheaper on sale. Same with those found at Amazon and Walmart, as I already mentioned. Regular price for Stanleys is $45.

I don't believe that Stanley makes an equivalent to the "Essential". If you want one with no handle or straw it's a big savings but now it's also in competition with a whole array of other insulated 30oz cups in the $25-ish price range.

I eat out for lunch almost everyday. I fill this up with Diet Coke. Some places don't charge me for the soda, some do. Either way, it lasts for the rest of the afternoon, nice and chilly.
