Visually inspecting this phenomenon across USA it's frequent in densely populated areas. I come from the 13th largest city (due to zoning) an its still not dense like Philly or Cali. We still mostly have 4 lane roads.

What gets me is how is beef as cheap in Miami as it is in my city; an their seafood is 3x less. Where is the cattle farms in the gulf an ocean. I assume that's due to tourism being a main an constant profit. But it still would have to be shipped in. It could also be a lot of the locals are a generation away from nations where the local basic food is always low cost. That might factor into Cali being friendly and beside a nation with low food costs. They probably run food carts there who's prices compete hard with big names
