Their internal naming convention.
Black = Beef broth (oxtail).
Gold = Chicken broth (with egg yolk).
Green = Vegetarian (mushroom with thickener).
Red = Original (beef flavoring with more spice).

current original flavor showed a $2.40 discount for a total of $9.60, that's $0.69 more for the beef flavor - no Subscribe and Save needed.

dont expect anything on the level of black. if black is 10/10, these are like 4/10.

They are Korean instant noods. I would warrant to say that the South Koreans are trying to beat out the Japanese (easy win), but not the super extensive Chinese flavors out there, which we will never see in the USA without 3rd party sites. This is off topic of course, but my wife and I (she's Japanese) went to Seoul last fall for a month to some of the automated instant noodle 'restaurants', and that was so cool. Check them out on youtube if you get time, the flavor options are endless.

As for Chinese instant noodles, Americans have to dig deep in Yamibuy to get the real thing. I think Chinese instant noodles kill 10x fold. Go to China, experience the plethora of flavors. We go yearly to a new area we've never been to.

Nongshim makes tons of items that have many different flavor profiles. My Japanese in-laws always have multiple 24-pack Shin boxes in storage (black, red, and a few gold), The flavor is there, especially when you add in your favorite veggies and/or proteins. worship

We approve Nongshim products.

Chicken flavored, obviously, but also eggy and gingery. Sort of soup thickness and taste you'd get adding a raw yolk. Hence the dehydrated scrambled egg topping to finish it off.
