Nice drive, but there are a few things to keep in mind before buying:

They tend to get noticeably hot during data transfers.
The build quality is on the cheaper side...made entirely of plastic, with a razor-thin edge that can break easily.
Performance can drop significantly when the drive heats up due to thermal throttling.
They're extremely small (about the size of a thumbnail) and can be misplaced easily.

As someone else mention these are easily lost, so I would recommend a storage case of some sort for it.

My daughter has it permanently taking up a USB slot in her laptop. It was a great way to add extra storage without lugging around an external hard drive. I have one plugged into a WiiU and it works like a charm.

The device does heat up a bit, but most compact storage generate a noticeable amount of heat when under load. I haven't noticed them getting hotter than I've experienced similar products. I haven't had a failure of any kind either.

I can't speak on longevity when it comes to actually having to remove the drive regularly because the applications we use them for don't require frequent removal. The one connected to my daughter's laptop fits pretty well against the laptop's enclosure and we haven't had issues with the exposed piece breaking off. So I would say it's pretty durable. They are made of plastic but most of the compact USB storage at this price point is a well, so not really a minus there imo.

The outer usba shell plug=in is plastic so will not last and easy to break. It will be bristle over time.

I still cannot believe that a supposedly reputable brand like SanDisk (owned by Western Digital) continues to market this POS junk. I bought this a couple of years ago and consider it to be one of my worst purchases ever.

If you want this form factor, get the Samsung Fit Plus. It will cost around the same, maybe a couple of $ more, and worth it. A no brainer.
