I've never had Hoka before. How do you compare them to let's say New Balance 880 which are the least bulky to me, when it comes to esthetic as I'm pretty sure they're great for running with that thick sole underneath you.

There's one thing that's for sure about Hoka's and it's that you either love them or they obliterate your back. Please keep your proof of purchase and thoroughly test them out within the return window. Not to knock Hoka's, I love them, but for every person I know that loved them, there's a person whose back was in tremendous discomfort and pain after short usage due to the design of the pad.

That's not surprising. TBH, most people's body and feet are not designed to walk on the "cloud".

Yeah I'm on the lookout for endurance walking shoes (multi day event) and determined that most Hokas in my case probably wouldn't serve me well for that. Probably great for times when you stand around a lot or walk in bursts like when playing a tourist, but the extra padding probably would destroy my joints or feet over extreme continuous distances.

I don't have this specific shoe. But as someone with arthritic knees due to inflammation, I love every pair of hokas I've had. I've owned 4 varying pairs so far. I don't run, but I default to them over any other shoes I own.
