I'm really only looking for something to help me out with the work I do on my car. the Milwaukee M18 seems overkill, and the M12 stubby is expensive but looks great. But honestly, for $30 and seeing what this thing can do on YouTube, this is hard to pass up. Unfortunately it's just another incompatible battery and charger to add to the collection.

My thoughts exactly. I have a decent pneumatic impact and this is an opportunity to break free from the tether on the cheap. Also good for stowing in a car or truck for unexpected flats, so long as you top off the battery now and then.

Even if this thing can only manage half of advertised torque, it'll break correctly torqued car lugs loose. At this price throw one in the trunk of each car, shoot

I've never tried their battery powered tools but I do have quite a few hand tools and plug in tools from Workpro and they've all been solid products for the price. They're not going to be the best thing you've ever used, but they get the job done at a pretty unbelievable price point

bought it last time at this price. does break lig nuts loose under 150 lb/ft. not on par with Ridgid or Milwaukee but fair for the price

OP - thanks for the post. I've been thinking about a cordless impact. Used the air powered one today; it wasn't that difficult.....but willing to try the WOOT one.

Do you have a big/powerful compressor? I always got the impression air impact wrenches were very demanding but have always thought they were cool.

Is this overkill to use it for tighten car lug nuts that only needs 80lb torque.

Lug nuts should never be tightened with an impact. At the very least, torque limiting extensions should be used, but the only proper way is with a torque wrench. Impact tightening can cause stretched or stripped lug threads, broken lugs, and warped brake components. Alloy wheels can also be cracked by over torquing.

Haha I guess I fell for it. But in this case tighter isn't better as one might think. Even pro tire shops get this wrong; my suspicion is they know full well that it's wrong but are too lazy to do it right. Ironically, Walmart has adopted a policy of torquing lugs to factory specs, with a double check done by a second technician. I'd bet that this is a direct result of lawsuits.

You need a torque wrench to tighten. These are to help loosen the lug nuts. I've seen quite a few torque wrenches on here for around $30.

Agreed 💯👍. I use power tools to loosen them. The proper way is to use a torque wrench for the final torque. An impact wrench is ok for snugging them up and the occasional use when one has to change a tire on the road, as not even myself keeps a torque wrench in the car.

I posted a 1/2" one the other day for like $16 shipped. And occasionally Harbor Freight puts theirs on sale for $12 or $13. Definitely worth having, even if just for lug nuts. Also handy for CV shaft outer nuts, which in many cases require an exact torque for proper wheel bearing hub preload.
