This thing is pretty great; I have this exact model, and it fits perfectly in the rear sub-trunk in my Model Y. Great for long drives & road trips, and we use it at the holidays and when entertaining: it's a perfect way to keep a ton of drinks cold without taking up fridge space, and without doing the ice-water shuffle every day. Highly recommend; works great, doesn't use a lot of power and is perfect size. (Wine, milk, 2L soda, etc all easily fit upright, as do freezer pizzas, etc. )

have had this model for 3 months and stacked coupons to get it for about $5 more. I use it in my backseat of my car a few times a week for business trips. Its noticeably but not irritatingly loud but it's a small price to pay for refrigerated drinks or to shop for groceries and not worry about the frozen/refrigerated foods. I have a Predator battery pack from Harbor Freight that I can keep it plugged into and get a day +. Great purchase for us.

Which Predator are you using? Is it the 350?

I've had this exact one for a couple of years now. We bought it to use in our work truck. We have a lawncare company. So in the summer when it's really hot outside and this is inside our truck, even with the windows cracked, the battery drains pretty fast and doesn't last one days worth of work. Probably to be expected with how hot it gets in there. Just wish it lasted longer for our use. We've used it on vacation trips just fine, since the a/c is on and it's not sitting in a hot vehicle. So for that it works great!

Besides the lid opening from the front (this model) vs. side and potential clearance issues inside a vehicle, it seems like the extra capacity from the 42 qt model would be more useful for essentially the same price. Anyone have any experience?

edit: looks like it does work. $221 shipped (pre-tax)

I was told use an insulated cover for it helps a lot.

Mine heats up in the sub-trunk. Actually it struggled to reach temp when it's out in the hot sun the first time I used it. It ended up reaching 50F in a few hours but shut down with overheat code. It can reach temp if it's at night but it does heat the case up. Still testing but it's not as great as I think it should be. I left it on top of the sub-trunk cover and it seems less hot.
Works fine inside the house plugged in to the wall.

Yours may have a compressor issue. Just on the topic, I got the 23qt delivered yesterday and did some testing here in Las Vegas.

Left it outside in 107 ambient, and it took 42 minutes to get to 32f.

annoying that they offer Worry-Free Delivery for $4.69. "Get a full refund if the order doesn't arrive as described, including loss & damage in transit".

makes you wonder if something arrived broken will they not honor a fix? annoying.

was that with or without the worry free delivery? BTW I received mine without that promo. no issues so far.
