The 150 ft/lbs is way over spec, which is suppose to be about 30. The joke is some places will use an impact driver to tighten your oil drain plug because it's quick and easy. But you're suppose to use a hand torque wrench and calibrate to within the spec.

Most modern cars prefer synthetic, especially turbos. I would change oil at 3K if the engine is filled with non-synthetic.

5 qts of quality API oil and filter = $10. Shop rate is min $100/hour. I doubt quality work can be done in 9 minutes. The store will try too sell shocks, tires, transmission flush, coolant flush, injector cleaning, etc on top of the oil change. Learn to change your oil and stay away from these crooks.

Hand tighten and use a wrench to add another 1/8 to 1/4 turn, or until snug. Don't need to be precise with an oil drain bolt. Head bolts and crank shaft bolt are torque sensitive fasteners.
