Got this flash last time it was under $200. Works well for my off camera setups.

Same as Godox for those that don't recognize this brand. It's Adorama's label.

When using manual, can I use a Sony mount on Canon or nikon?
On camera, you can but you lose ttl and hss.

Off camera yea you can use it as a slave if you have a remote trigger or you use optical triggered flash, again no TTL unless your trigger has it.

I also have a theory you can buy $20 hot shoe replacements and swap them out and use the same unit for everything as long as the shoe is swapped out. I haven't tried it myself and haven't found any one that has done it either but you're more than welcome to give it a go! The swap is really easy, 4 tiny screws and 1 ribbon cable.

Has anyone used this as an outdoor flash? I've thinking about getting this or the AD200. Possibly the AD100.
If you're debating ad100 and this, go with this. Reason being, more versatility. You can use on camera or off camera (with trigger). With the ad100 you're stuck with off camera only and you have to get a trigger on top of it.

yes, on-camera. I tried canon V1 (not pro) mount on nikon z30 and it worked in manual mode. However Sony V1 pro didnt work on nikon z30 even in manual mode

I'm not sure, but I know that there might be some compatibility issues. I originally had these flashes for Nikon and then switched to Sony and had issues with my Nikon flashes working on the Sony mount. I think the Nikon and Canon mounts are similar but where you may have issues is in TTL mode. I think they would be interchangeable in manual though, not 100% sure. the Sony flashes have a different hot shoe design
yes, Sony version on Nikon camera didnt work but canon does, in manual mode though

This is a really good light, I bought it last time it went on sale. On my Sony A1's, the TTL worked really well to my surprise. Battery life is solid and it charges quickly via USB-C, don't even have to take the battery out.

If you don't have a worry for size / weight or space, you can get AD600BM's off of AliExpress right now for under 300 dollars with their back to school coupons. The units I bought shipped out of New Jersey and I got them in two days, brand new, no issues Smilie

The deal was originally for special Adorama members and the link was only supposed to be for them. The links keep being shared here and Adorama may or may not mind. Heck, look how many they sold. Not blaming, just is what it is.
