Wasn't that long ago I shucked 6xWD 4tb reds for a 24tb (16 usable) nas array. Crazy this one drive is basically the same net size. Although copying 22tb of data to/from would be painful, as would a rebuild with a failed drive.

no. Synology refuses to update their compatibility list except for their unknown quality over priced drives. While the drives would physically work, Synology will nag you about it.
