No. Not at all. OLED blows this away. This TV is only a little above Sony's entry level TVs. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...x90l-x90cl

its 1399 online and delivery as early as thurshow does this compare an the B4 LG Oled?
It's better than oled in terms of durabilities.

Oled is a flaw technology in regards to durabilities. Most oled will start getting dead pixels within 1 year of life regardless of how much hours you put in. Oled leds starts to decay right after it is made from the factory.

If you going to buy an oled make sure you get a no hassle warranty that cover dead pixels.

4 years old oled riddled with dead pixels.

This is an overgeneralization. I've had an OLED since 2017, and to this day have not experienced any dead pixels. Just because it happens to a few does not mean it's an inherent flaw with OLED technology; dead pixels can happen on any panel tech. I honestly would worry more about potential burn-in than dead pixels, and that's saying a lot because OLED tech has evolved significantly to the point that one need not worry about burn-in anymore with OLED unless it's used extensively for one use case with constant static logos or images.

Thanks for posting that - I'm trying to understand when Costco part numbers are different - how did you connect the X90L/X90CL to this XR85X90CL ? Is it just the last digits (X90CL?) I thought the first numbers were the version - XR85
He "C" in the CL is for Costco.

Picked this up yesterday from a Costco that said it was in stock not too far away from my house. Made 2 trips. First trip was to actually get some household items I needed and check out the TV in person before deciding to buy. I had a 75X900E for about 7 years and 4 months that decided to completely go out over the weekend. Around 2017/2018, this was considered one of the best performing LED TVs. Picture was still great up until it died. Kind of good timing with the sale of the 85X90CL. Read and watched reviews on the TV online, and overall very positive. It looked great in person as well, albeit it was running the demo mode that purposely has the display settings set to be overly vibrant. It also comes with a 5 year warranty, so I figured it was a good buy and decided to buy it as it looked like there were only 2 units left on the floor (did not ask sales associate if there were more in the back). Rented a cargo van from Home Depot and went back to pick it up. Costco employees helped me load face up flat on the van floor, which I was a bit worried about, but they said it was fine as long as you don't load anything on top. I managed to unload the TV by myself using a furniture dolly and get it in the house. Unboxed it later that night and set it up. I can't do a side by side comparison with the 900E, but I am very pleased with the picture right out of the box with no adjustments. Black level is uniform and I do not really notice any bright spots. Also the viewing angle isn't that bad at all. Colors dont appear to ahift a whole lot when viewing from the side. That wasn't the case with the 900E, where I had to calibrate the display per recommend settings from rtings and the color shift was noticeable when viewed from the side . For those on the fence, I recommend this TV. It also has the latest Google TV OS which is way smoother than the clunky Android TV OS and Dolby Vision which the 900E didn't have. The 85 inch is a huge upgrade over a 75 inch. I just hope it will last more than 5 years. Based on the symptoms of my 900E, I plan on getting the main board replaced and keeping the TV in storage for backup when the 90CL dies. Looks like it's a $200 job so worth it in my opinion for a fix that will make the TV last until other components die which should be another 7 years. For now, I'll enjoy the upgraded TV.

At this point is any recent tv with decent specs better than my current tv? I have a Sony XBR-75X850D if it matters. Bought in 2017.

Yeah, no problem. Happy to share my initial thoughts to help others considering. Is your 850D still running? The 90CL will be a better TV no doubt. The 900E was better than the 850D and the 90CL has a better picture out of the box than the 900E. Calibrating it further will make it even better. If you do decide to buy, unless you're crafty, I recommend 2 to 3 people to help unload the TV. It's definitely not a 1 man job, but I somehow was able to get it done without damaging it.

850D is still my main tv to this day. But the HDMI port with ARC died early on. Just been using another port. but still works great.

I can order online for $1399 - will I be able to get a price match in store after ordering? (it is showing available at my store on the app). Anyone know/tried? Trying to avoid the hassle of transporting this behemoth!

Unfortunately they won't price match the warehouse because the cost of delivery.
