One example: Once rice is cooked, the NS-WAC10 can keep it warm for hours. Some even use theirs to keep rice warm for days. Cheap rice cookers typically can't do this.

Another example: From all the reviews I've read, several said they had used cheaper rice cookers and once they bought this unit or one like it, it was night and day difference in flavor and texture.

Another: This cooker has multiple rice type settings as well as recipes on the website, where you can click on your model and even though the type rice you want may not have an actual setting on your unit, it gives you directions on which settings to use.

You can do a quick search on amazon reviews or other sites for additional differences. Pretty easy to find, but hopefully these few descriptions will help.

Some reviews say the Tiger one at Costco is difficult to clean due to the top not being removable.

Don't know how often everyone else is cleaning the top but if you let it dry out, I feel like the heat from daily use keeps it pretty clean already.
