damn thats crazy. I bet if they didnt want this to happen, they would simply close the ordering mechanism that separates the items and allows returns of individual components

Crazily enough, the Home Depot around the corner from me has this for $99, which is bonkers for the vacuum and 2 batteries. I checked as many other stores as I had the patience for and no others had it, so obviously YMMV.

As others have noted, 12v batteries x 2 not 12 batteries. Outside the edit window so can't change.
