Not a great deal imo. It is the regular base M4 chip, not the M4 Pro SOC. Apple makes it so confusing with the MacBook Pro 14" lineup by having the base model with the MacBook Air M4 SOC.You're better off buying the MacBook Pro 14" with the M4 Pro, 24gb RAM and 512gb SSD for $1699. This is essentially the $1299 base model with upgrades, which makes no sense when you pay Apple taxes for the upgrades.

exactly. better off getting the MacBook Air for the base M4 - the CPU fan isn't a $500 upgrade.
