Make sure your firmware is updated if you're using this with Windows 11.

This isn't the only drive affected, but it's on the list:

1TB is $1 more than the February and June FP deals. 2TB is the same price.

1TB at lowest $60. We've seen the 2TB as low as $109. I'm unsure with inflation/tariffs if we'll ever see those prices again, but maybe.

Not a chance.

Better drives like the T500 have been down to $125 in the past couple months.

You shouldn't wait for Samsung or WD to get cheaper if you need something now.

Weird. I'll have to check my firmware later. I grabbed one of these for a OS drive two weeks ago and it has worked fine updating to Windows 11 24H2 without any firmware updates.

It's a specific patch marked to be installed after 24H2.

At one point, it was marked to not be installed unless your firmware was updated.

You can also block Bitlocker as an extra precaution.

Sitting on 3 failed drives so far. Tons of lost photos. Avoid WD. And it's not due to windows 11. I have Mac
