It's generally considered good digital hygiene to keep Wi-Fi IoT devices on an isolated 2.4GHz-only guest network, separate from your regular-use WiFi network, since IoT devices are regularly targeted as network entry points for breaching home networks, due to the slow-to-nonexistent pace at which many IoT manufacturers release fixes for security vulnerabilities found on their devices.
Wireless, battery-powered cameras like this one and its successor are built around power efficiency and high-compression stream encoding over image quality, which, as a rule, makes them a poor choice for capturing fine detail on fast-moving objects like cars. You don't necessarily need a dedicated plate ID camera (which are frequently $500+), but a decent PoE camera will get you much better results.
Considering the (admittedly, one generation newer) camera alone cost me more than this, not including the mount or solar panel, this isn't a bad deal, if you just want to know if anyone is trying to poke around where they shouldn't, and get a nice shot of that mug (I have mine watching my back gate).
The newer 4K version is definitely smarter (able to identify more objects on-camera), has higher resolution, wider FoV, and better color night vision, but it also costs almost four times as much as this one, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
