Similar to many global businesses, we continue to navigate a challenging economic environment. As a result, we've made the difficult decision to increase the recommended retail price for PlayStation 5 consoles in the U.S. starting on August 21.
The updated recommended retail price for PlayStation 5 consoles in the U.S. are as follows:
- PlayStation 5 – $549.99
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99
- PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99
The recommended retail prices for PlayStation 5 accessories remain unchanged, and we have no other price changes to announce for additional markets.I hardly use it and I'd be more upset if I paid $500 (or now $550).
There are only a handful of games for the PS5 that are not on PC/PS4/Xbox and storage space is limited and you'll need a PCIe4 or PCIe5 drive to hold&play additional ps5 games as external drives can only hold PS5 games and/or hold&play PS4 games.
If you don't have PS+ you won't have access to cloud saves so please also use a usb to keep your saves safe.
