I ended up getting a refund on the last Amazon hybrid mattress I purchased (different brand). They sent me an old one and it did not fully expand. That said, it was more comfortable than the 20+ year old traditional mattress it replaced. I much prefer the Sealy Posturepedic Pro that I have now, though it cost ~$500 more. For an infrequently used guest bedroom I'd probably roll the dice on another hybrid at a comparable savings.

Beware, returning a mattress with Amazon is a pain. The soonest I could schedule a pickup was 2 weeks out and you have to pick a 3 hour window. They never showed up. I got a text from them after 3 hours stating they were close. I responded immediately to the text. About half an hour later the return status shows as "could not contact customer, pickup rejected". To Amazon's credit, they just gave me a refund after that experience, but now I've got to dispose of the mattress myself. It wasn't a problem for me, but it could be for some.

Good luck!

Sounds like a waste of money if it is like any other spare bedroom that never gets used.10+ year old mattress probably perfectly fine (maybe even better than this) if it's just been sitting there. If people are complaining about sleeping on it, then sure give this a try, but what someone thinks is a good mattress is highly opinionated. I might be ok with a $250 mattress others might not. Point is, for a guest room, who cares. You either buy a mattress that you know you like and hope your guests do as well, or you just put something in there to get them through a couple of nights.
