I also have this tent purchased from Costco. Would disagree with the other poster; it's certainly an imperfect tent, but you won't find better quality anywhere close to this price point. A solid budget option for car camping.

Every tent will flap like crazy in wind if not taut.

What I liked
+ Easy to pack/unpack.
+ Mesh on all 4 sides, so good air circulation without the rainfly
+ Aluminum tent poles
+ Rainfly that extends fully to the ground.
+ Reasonably good interior height for a 3-person tent.

What I dislike:
- The mesh pockets are small and poorly designed, with fasteners easily coming loose.
- Rainfly zipper is positioned directly in the center instead of on one of the sides. Means you have to lean way out of the tent to zip/unzip.
- 3 stakes per vestibule are a little annoying, but not a major issue.

I had this tent. It was terrible. Each vestibule needs 3 stakes and if not totally taught, it flaps like crazy in the wind. 9 maybe 10 stakes total for the tent. Kept us up all night. Returned to Costco after 3 sleepless nights.

I bought the 4 person from costco. My friends and I love it. Treated me well for 3 years so far. At least 2 camping trips per year.

I was looking at the "rainfly extends fully to the ground" as a negative. I would never use it without the rainfly just for privacy's sake, but it seems like there would be little to no ventilation with the fly on. Am I misinformed?

This seems like a clearance price. These were much more a couple years ago, but Klymit never really broke through the tent market.

I got the 2 person tent. I enjoy it. If I needed a 3 person I'd get this.

The rain fly doesn't go all the way to the ground, just near it. This helps it stay drier in rain and wind. It also has vents at the top so you do get air circulation. Depending on the weather, when I camp in tents like this I usually only have the rain fly fully zipped at night and I leave the zipper open during the day. If you're planning to hang out in it on a summer day with the rain fly fully zipped it's probably going to be too hot. This is a typical design for higher quality tents. This one is more at the low end of that category due to the weight, but it's a much more robust design than you'll find in the recreational tents you normally see in this price range.

Klymit is a great brand. This is going to be much better than a Coleman starter tent at the same price.

If your using it for privacy and its hot or humid, I would agree this would be a negative. But if your going to have any rain, or it sa cold night, its definitely a positive. For good weather camping you can pick up a coleman at Walmart for pretty cheap that'll do just fine.

I was in the footprint camp for many years. I stopped using one. It's just another thing to get wet, another thing to get dirty, another thing to pack and unpack, more weight, more bags.

Even in my backpacking tent where the floors are really thin, I don't have issues. I don't wear shoes in the tent, and I only sit on the floor on the air mattress or my sleeping pad. So my weight is distributed across a much larger area.

When I get back from a trip, I set the tent up anyway in the backyard to let it dry out and air out, rinse it off, flip it up on its side, rinse it off gently and hand wash delicately if necessary.
