Not good as a fridge. I had one and it was consistently above 40 degrees which is above safe range. Set at 35 and it was 44-48 degrees.,

Bought the same one two years ago for $230 delivered. This is improved over the 2023 model. For 2025 they have made it convertible. improved the shelves and added a bottom draw. Still manual defrost which is desirable. In reefer mode it can now be set 33F to 50F. Good deal , recommend but would buy the Costco with all pull out drawers instead. That one has active cooling above each drawer and more room.

Been researching getting a freezer in the last week or so. If a freezer is in a local store, consider buying it there as something like this model is 95 lbs, not a fun haul back to the store if delivered, some people don't have a truck or van to do it either. Inspect the product in store, if the box has dings, ask to look inside. The deliveries to your home or the store are likely just as messy.

Top door freezers generally have way more benefits than these cool looking upright freezers, like in a power outage. Reading reviews on this one, you're SOL dealing with BestBuy, plus the return window is likely 15 days, maybe more if you pay for their plus plan. I opted for one from Target, full 90 day window, can return in store. All of these freezers are probably made from a handful of Chinese makers, if there is a brand on there, it's some private label slapped on.

BTW with BestBuy, if you go the delivery route, select the delivery + installation (this is not the default choice), so they haul it to your desired location in the house. I wouldn't want to carry this down to a basement. Plus, if they send their own 'installer,' you can inspect and decline delivery if the box is all dinged up. Both delivery and delivery + installation are the same price for some reason, but the latter gives you some outs vs just having FedEx dumping a lemon on your doorstep.

Not OP, but it's the Hamilton Beach 11 cubic foot upright freezer. Costco part # 1466477.

Been wanting a garage freezer for a while. Was leaning towards something bigger but this price was way too good to pass up.

I bought 2 of these to replace an old split refrigerator and to avoid using a chest freezer. They work great and seal great. They are no frills, so no interior light, was mainly looking or a garage ready unit that wasn't huge. So far so good in the 90+ degree humid garage, we'll see how they fair in the winter where the temp dips into the 20s in my garage.

I have one of those, and used a Govee freezer thermometer inside to monitor it. To my surprise, when set to -21C, it gets there, but then turns off and only cycles back on at -11C . I checked my other freezers and they dont have anywhere near this thermostat dwell on them.

Would this be a good fridge for curing meat?

These FedEx lemons you speak of, how much per pound?
