Metallic is usually at much lower print quality and the picture tends to look darker.

I find that prints on metallic paper are better quality than on "ordinary" paper, sharper and a brilliant finish. Yes, in the light parts of the picture there is a minute amount of "shading" due to the metallic content (hard to describe it, you have to see it for yourself), but for my taste it enhances the picture. Portrait and people close-ups may not be appropriate for metallic paper. Best if you see a few metallic prints of different subjects to develop your taste.

I just ordered 13 prints that I am submitting to competitive photo contests, 11 are on metallic paper. I love metallic paper.
A word of warning : when you get the print check for scratches and micro-scratches. Since the surface is so brilliant sloppy handling will damage it.
When you look for scratches hold the print at a sharp angle to your line of vision and also let the light fall on the print at a sharp angle.

It's normally$21, so regardless it's a great discount. Testing out some book cover prints in metallic to see what it's like before printing the real stuff tomorrow. Works on up to 9 before they require payment info to submit the order (can still pay in store, no limit seen)

just bought one and brought it home. I was very disappointed to find out its not actually made of metal. I was hoping to stick to one of my Displate wall displays. The colors look great though. I printed a picture of the Las Vegas Strip and it looks amazing.

I picked this deal up today and it does look good but it's definitely not metallic. That should be advertised by CVS as a glossy print. it's still a good deal just poor advertising.

Thanks OP. Made a nice poster from a recent trip to Las Vegas of a colorful glass ceiling in Bellagio. The Walmart frame cost more than the poster.

Why do they call it metallic if it's not metallic?
