It depends on what you're looking for. The Lenovo has a weaker processor but more RAM. This device has a better processor but less RAM. The display is much better on the Lenovo than on this one. Overall, I would also go with the Lenovo.

Great deal, wouldn't even consider it until that strictly better Lenovo you just posted for $50 more sells out.

The LOQ also has 170w PSU vs 120w for this MSI laptop, meaning the TGP for the 4060 in the MSI laptop is lower than the Lenovo. LOQ's build quality is vastly superior than the MSI one also. For $50 more, go with the LOQ. You can buy another 12GB SO-DIMM for ~$40 to expand the LOQ's RAM.

4050 TGP comparison video:

https://www.msi.com/Laptop/Thin-G...cification (also uses a 120W power brick)

The 45W TGP 4050 in the video above is comparable to the 4050 in this Ryzen notebook. Massive performance difference between the 45w and 105w TGP 4050's -- keep that in mind when shopping around.

We need Wierts to buy both and drag race them for us.

No Frown. It is still awful. Like the MSI premium gaming line is flimsier than the HP Victus bargain gaming line, much less the LOQ Lenovo.

Ah yeah I missed the processor difference. Thought they were the same.

I know this is a gaming laptop. But is this specifically for people who only game or for people who content create? No regular person who web browses or do those things uses this laptop? Even if you web browse and YouTube, the battery is going to be low? I'm confused why this is the case, since it won't use the 5070 ti but the regular gaming card? Which is the gaming card it uses when not using the 5070 ti?

How is this compared to the Dell XPS 15 9520 that I have that has i7-12700h processor, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd and Nvidia 3050 and Intel Iris Xe Graphics and 86wh battery?

I do not play those games people play though for a gaming laptop so this would not be suitable for a non gamer? However, if you want something with a a good video card and fast processor like the i7-12700h, is this good?

Is it true that gaming laptops like this get really hot and break easily? This laptop looks much cheaper than those Lenovo and Asus gaming laptops that cost a lot more.

Years ago, I had a sager np 2740 laptop and it had nothing but issues. Had the battery replaced so many times and even the screen as well. Then once when I was using it, it just shut off and was told the laptop doesn't work anymore and the board needed to be replaced so no longer used it. I believe the sager was a gaming laptop? I know the processor was a quad core processor i5-6300hq but I think the video card was only Intel Iris 5200 but not sure. So any laptop you have that you use it at full power is prone to have something like this happen?

This wouldn't be a good candidate for a laptop you're looking to run on battery more often than plugged in.

You mean PD via USB-C? They could've added that, sure, but then the price goes up since the AC adapter for this laptop is only rated for 120w. How many USB-C power adapters do you have around your house? I've got easily a dozen; I wouldn't call it a "deal breaker" on a ~$600 laptop.

Okay so this laptop doesn't have good battery. But if you use it just for YouTube video and that's it, the battery is still bad? Same with web browsing only?

Yes. All gaming laptop batteries are horrible. They're a joke. They last 2-4hours max on lowest settings for everything and doing the bare minimum. In a few months the battery will last 20min.
