It's basic manufacturing. Externals are always overstock, overruns and binned out of spec drives. They always use the lowest quality drives for externals and slap short warranties on them. Look at the new Baracuda labeled drives in these things, they look like Exos drives not the off the shelf Baracudas. I have four Exos drives taken out of externals from years ago, I doubt they were up to Exos specs or they'd have sold them for 2x as much to a server farm.
Buy whatever you want, I don't need to "provide pictures" because I could give two Fs if you buy this or not. Use your brain.

p.s. although it would have been nice if we did get 26TB exos for 250 dollars. So his comment did make me HOPE ...
We do have some users that "love" joking/horsing around in these threads ... so can you confirm it, or provide link, that others also got 26tb seagates that were Exos!
p.s. A few pages back in this thread, I did post a screen shot of my Seagate 26 TB hard drive, and it showed the SMART info. What does your's look like. If you took it out of enclosure , can you take a picture of the drive showing all the data. This really is the first we heard there were EXOS and non-hamr. again.... many of us "want to believe", but we need to verify!
I bought a 24TB in January (this was the B&H Photo sale for $280 when they were briefing shipping with EXOS drives inside before they switched to Barracuda) and a 14TB external last month which has a non-HAMR EXOS. It is apparent they are non-HAMR because there is no laser warning label on either after shucked. The 18TB external also appear to be shipping with non-HAMR EXOS inside.
Didn't mean for my post to make anyone think this 26TB increment could be an EXOS, I just meant that some of these externals actually appear to be shipping with what I consider to be superior non-HAMR EXOS drives inside.

But I don't think it really matters because the 26tb baracuda labeled drive looks exacly like their Exos and Firehawk labeled 26tb drives. And you can't even buy a 26tb baracuda. My speculation (original post) is that they just changed the labeling policy and not the actual quality of drive.
