Battery doesn't last long enough if you have a bigger area. Go for v11 instead.

21% of the reviews on Walmart gave it 1* mostly for something wrong or not working

This. Also - mine stopped holding a charge after a couple years. Then the motor started to rev, then the battery died. Did a ton of research, tried everything, but out of warranty. So now it's used as my basement vacuum

My friend uses his DeWalt batteries on his Dyson. Just buy a converter to attach to your Dyson.

Yeah I've been hesitant getting a refurb from Dyson due to the number of complaints I've seen and apparently their CS isn't very good nowadays. And I've read getting replacement parts can be difficult if you get a faulty machine. Disappointing. I have a refurb V7 I bought quite some years ago that has done great, and I can't remember now what issue I had when I first got it but I do recall their CS being very responsive and solving it. It's finally on it's last leg and had plan to just get another refub but now, I don't know if I want to take the chance.

Disappointing to read about the problems. I miss my v7 (also on basement duty), which was easier to handle, had more capacity, and was easier to dump than my v11 (and it looks like similar drawbacks for v12/15). Was thinking about a v8, but not if it won't last a long time
