Ever deal with (not just) Roborock's customer service for repairs/returns?
While the prices may be better at Roborock, I would consider that purchasing through Amazon gives you an additional layer of customer service to reply on if the model you get has challenges.
No guarantee that the model you want goes on sale at Amazon, but I'd wait for Prime or BF or whatever through Amazon before buying directly from Roborock.

QRevo Curv S5X is a great option if your home doesn't have high thresholds to cross. The dual brushes really avoid tangling remarkably well and the Curv dock is one of the best at keeping things dry and sanitary, which to me is critical for a mopping vac. There's no such thing as a set-and-forget mopping vac, but once a month cleaning of the tray is about all this one needs.
This is a relatively new model and $850 matches the lowest price yet, so there may be better deals for Black Friday but it might just be this price again.
Any suggestions around which one is a good buy for carpeted townhouse? My current bobsweep model doesn't have enough suction power and leaves debris at places. I don't need the mop feature.

I have the Roborock Q5 max+. I also wanted no mop. Couldn't be happier. It does great on carpet and hardwood. Self emptying works great too. Refurbished on eBay right now id only $224 with a 2 year warranty. Mine arrived like new. I don't know for sure but it did not seem refurbished in any way. Still had plastic on it everywhere.

The only issue with ebay Allstate warranty is, if the total repair cost is more than the cost of the product, then Allstate closes the warranty. I had bought Dyson V11 vacuum with 3-year warranty but 2 warranty claims within 2 years (change of roller head, tube and battery) and then they closed my warranty silently.

I have dealt with Roborock on this robot twice. First time it was within the 30 day return and they replaced it. Six month later the mop had an issue and they paid for shipping and repaired it without issue. It hasn't had any issues since. I did get the replacement warranty from Amazon when I bought it.
I had a problem with Roborock where that center wheel broke, looked like it was screwed too tight and plastic broke.
machine was still under warranty but Roborock refused to fix it stating it was a consumable part like their bags…
I found a replacement that cost 99 cents on aliexpress and no shipping…
I wasn't impressed with their customer service

I think the Q8 max is $179 now on Amazon and that's the better version of the q5 pro, just remove the "mop" head
I bought the roborock q revo 18 months ago. The first one has arrived and had to be replaced immediately. Their warranty is only 1 year. Sure enough 4 weeks ago it started to have cliff sensor errors and became inoperable. Contacted support. I'm pretty sure it's Ai because they don't provide any name on email replies. They admitted it would require repairs ($160) or replacement. Because it's beyond their short warranty they offered nothing. This is a $674 premium appliance and they don't stand behind their products. Avoid unless you want to have to buy a new one every 1.5 years.

I wish I could say I had a good experience like you. 7 months after purchase, the vacuum crapped out a sensor error code on my phone before immediately suiciding down a flight of stairs. Roborock gave me the run around and refused to acknowledge any fault (I bought from their site). I complained multiple times, but all they'd offer me is a worthless coupon code for a future purchase. Great vacuums, trash service/warranty.
I've gone through 5 generations of robot vacuums. Im currently on my 2nd Roborock vacuum.
in terms of features and the quality of the product, this checks all the boxes, and I'd buy it again.
one thing I would recommend to everyone, is to buy the Asurion extended warranty.
every robot vacuum I've had, fails after about 2 years. Every one.
Starting with my 2nd vacuum, I've been essentially upgrading every 2 years for almost free (cost of the Asurion warranty + general increase in price of the products). totally worth the extra cost.

My first robot was garbage. Shark ion from maybe 2017? I bought my dad a Roomba many years ago. Like first gen. Both were trash and more frustrating than helpful. Was about to give up and my friend told me to try a Roborock, and I picked up an S5 at 30% off. It was $400 even then. I love it. It's fantastic. I just bought a Q8 Max recently for $180, and it's even better by far. Robot vacuums are farkin solved now. Time to buy one.

Amazon has the Q5 Max+ Used-like new for $240. I bought one and it arrived recently. I haven't opened it yet, but from the look of the box, I'd guess it was never opened.
