I have been on a kick of buying these little tool kits, and I just got this, it's pretty good. Case is nice, but quite a bit of wasted space, a little bit big for what you get compared to some others

Does any other brand have a tiny pass-through ratchet like the Icon Gen1?

I can use something like this as well- but I can't spend $40 on it... Looking for a good, durable but lower cost alternative.

Check out the Wiha kits, they drop down around $25 from time to time. They feel really good.

Curious in your opinion what's the best little tool kit with sockets?

This is what the HF meme tool 2.0 should have been. Price is good too.

I just got this set from Autozone.com. It was a couple of bucks higher but I had a gift card. Nice little set. I've regretted not getting the Icon Meme #1 set when it was on sale a couple of weeks ago. I still may pick it up this weekend on the 20% off coupon. This Gearwrench set is probably a better value than either of the Meme sets in my opinion

This looks like a strange compromise between the icon bit driver set and the icon gen 2 set at harbor freight, and also priced lower middle between the two. Flex head ratchet with the hex bit holder but doesn't appear pass through, has a standard 1/4" extension for use with the hex to socket adapter instead of the extension that can be a bit extender, and a small consortium of sockets and the spaced out bits that doesn't include the JIS style Philips like the icon set. Granted you probably won't run into those types of screws very often for a set to keep in your kitchen junk drawer but this would take care of like 95% of "go get me the socket set out of the kitchen drawer" socket or bit driver needs you'd face without having some old Japanese motorcycles in the garage.I feel like this is a better balance of features to size than the gen 2 icon set for sure, but the Kobalt sets for $25 might be an alternative consideration for this. Never thought in my lifetime I'd be trying to weigh the pros and cons of small bit/socket sets when I have everything in this set at home. But for something to tuck away in the spouse's spare tire well of their SUV so you have access to some tools to fix a little random repair while in your non-daily driver makes this really appealing.
