I think square shot themselves on the foot with this release. They had a limited run of the original pixel remaster that ended up getting scalped to hell. People paid $100-$200 for one of those copies. Now this release isn't the original so it isn't as sought after. Good price to get in if you want to play the games. Collectors still want the limited release.

Sad that I missed the $20 deal from Target earlier this year.

They're still the same games right (pixel remasters)? I've been interested in the pixel remasters as I haven't played the OG games in over 30 years. Don't care what edition they're packaged as.

I remember hearing the games could be buggy. Did they ever fix that?

Sadly, the game retains mechanics from Dawn of Souls, and in that GBA version:

"Difficulty is based off the Easy Mode of the Origins version, though there is no option to adjust its level."

That is the primary reason why I refuse to buy this.

Gamestop has been selling this for $50 since March. So it's not *that* crazy of a deal.

The pixel remasters are amazing. The music alone is worth it. Fun factoid, Japanese drummer prodigy Yoyoka played drums on the battle tracks when she was 11 years old.

Yes, the pixel remasters are the same game as the limited run of the original. I enjoy it but there are a lot of quality of life improvements that make the play through a lot quicker (and easier) but it's worth the trade off IMO. It's hard to sit and play through these games on the originals, I sold my SNES FF2 & FF3 games because I can't dedicate the time to play. But I"m having a blast playing through them on the remaster.

I mean, it has two of the best RPGs of all time and the others are solid enough, so yes?
