Just ordered. Takes 30 minutes of swirling coffee grounds and then you filter the cold brew. Pain to clean but folks love the cold brew on the Amazon reviews. Coupon code FSDEALS on checkout page worked. Shipping has a weird monthly fee but just choose the higher $8.99 flat fee and the code makes it free. Able to use apple pay.
Bought two the last time they were on sale. I have no experience with cold brew but the coffee it makes is quite good IMHO. The filter isn't perfect and you do get some sediment. It uses allot of coffee; I wouldn't use any specialty/expensive coffee with this thing.
I order my pair yesterday. Excellent deal! I'm very excited. I cold brew coffee in a large mason jar with a tall stainless steel mesh filter at least twice each week using whole beans I grind at home. Now I'll use this gadget to load up the mason jars (I have four of the big ones) with coffee that'll last a couple weeks. Doing it that way should mitigate the cleaning hassle people are complaining about. Thank you OP!
I received one of these for Christmas, and would recommend at this price of $15 for 2. I've used mine about 25 times this year so far.
It is essentially a french press like you'd use for hot coffee brewing, but with a magnetic stirring mechanism like you'd see in a chemistry lab.
It performs better and faster to make cold brew than, say, just making cold brew in a regular french press. The stirring means you can make cold brew within 15-45 min (I sometimes let it run longer for a strong brew), rather than 6-12+ hours. And I have no idea how anyone considers this "hard to clean" because it's quite easy, just like a french press.
My only qualm is the small volume. I'm a big coffee / caffeine person and this only makes enough cold brew / concentrate for a day or two for me.
When you're done and are extracting the plunger from the carafe, I -strongly- recommend that you place the carafe on a reliable flat surface and hold it down firmly with one hand while slowly pulling the plunger up and out with the other. The plunger fits tightly and the carafe is simple glass - when the plunger is freed ("POP") from the top, it is VERY easy for the carafe to slip, topple or fall, and crack, chip, or even shatter. It's not happened to me, but having read about this from other buyers and having made several batches I can see how this could easily happen.
Since this is for two, I recommend setting the 2nd one aside as a backup in case this happens to you. You -could- gift the 2nd, but I think you'll really want to have that replacement carafe on hand.
Ollie's has them for $5 each if you have one near you. I picked up one for home then got a second for work.
Yeah, I saw a YouTube video confirming that[youtube.com] while doing some half ars research on the product, so this deal doesn't seem quite as hot now after the revelation. Still, the convenience of having them shipped to your door is nothing to sneeze at IMO and maybe it's worth the extra five bucks. I feel a bit silly for thinking they were not new and possibly refurbished now though.
If I could get them for $5 each, I'd grab four and try to repurpose them. Maybe use that tornado-like agitation action for cleaning small items in 91% isopropyl alcohol, or mixing drink powders, etc.
I really like the magnetic mechanism that drives the agitation. Like another member mentioned, it reminds me of those chemistry mixers you see in high school labs. Maybe some cheap basterd chemist could scoop up a bunch and build a mad scientist lab on the cheap 😂
I bought one a long time ago, and it worked fine. Still have it, but I've only used it or once or twice, because I found it easier to make cold brew overnight in the fridge. And on the occasional times I forget to make cold brew, I just make hot french press coffee instead which is quicker, and easier than this because it is easier cleanup. But it's a good deal if it fits your needs.

Someone had mentioned getting one of these a month or two back. At the time, I thought "Why this vs a decent stainless steel french press and brewing for 10-24hrs?"
Is there something special I am missing about this? Seems like a gimmick product to make a few bucks, imo.
Did you skip over the part where it takes 15 minutes and not 10-24 hours?
I bought these on a 2 for 2 deal last month at meh.com.. They do produce a good "tornado" of coffee slurry, a little loud for my liking. My main issue is that when I went to pressed off the grounds way too much escaped through the sides of the filter. My coffee is ground for pour over, so your experience may be different if you can use a very coarse ground and use a longer run time. I also agree there's an opportunity to use the magnet/glass for other fun kitchen chemistry but I couldn't think of a reason to keep it. Both of them donated to my local GoodWill

Many years ago I worked as a lab tech for an oil company where we had all the fancy centrifuges and chemicals and fume hoods. My boss kept letting me know he would be all in if we got a good recipe for making an illegal substance. I later left without ever satisfying his narco dream. lol
