In contrast, a T-Mobile sim card works just fine when popped into my phone. It's a Redmi K60. Got it at the time because it had identical specs to flagship phones for less than half the price.

I just got off a call with verizon reps yesterday on the same topic. Not their welcome plan unless you are on a grandfathered.plan from ages and feel loyal, it only comes with their plus plan, which is more expensive than OP and gives only limited GB of data. ATT doesn't have it even now, you need to pay $12 a day(used to be $10 max $50 a month)
sounds a lot like TMobile essentials plan, which doesn't include international data roaming. they're literally the same, some higher tier plans include international, but you keep trying to paint it like TMobile includes it.

When it comes to plans, ofcourse, everyone need is different and that is why they made it like that. I switched to Tmobile all the other lines, consolidated and find it more economical overall compared to every other company.
Bad thing about T-mobile plans is that all lines on the plan have to be the same tier/type. Ex: assume for 1 month you want to go abroad. You'd want to upgrade your plan to Go5G plus unlimited or whatever, and leave your other 3 lines on regular essentials.

I am not speaking in favor of any one company here. There are good and bad. I was a customer of all the 3 big companies and at one point had different lines on different phone services.

This is what I am doing as an existing customer:
1) use CB portal to add a new line on Unlimited Welcome and purchase iPhone 16 Pro
2) repeat step 1 three more times to add a total of 4 new lines
3) in 60 days use Tmobile's Keep and Switch promo to pay $800 towards each phone.
