Ingredients are generally listed in order of quantity of each. No reason to believe Hershey's website lists it otherwise, which was the source of this ingredient list. They can't even call it chocolate syrup. They have to call it chocolate "flavored".

Thanks for that. Do you have recommendations for a purer (i.e. more chocolate, less artificial crap) chocolate syrup? I've been using the trader joes brand but even that seems to have filler ingredients.

Yea the HERSHEY'S Simply 5 is much better. Cost more and a little more difficult to find (costco has it usually) but worth it.

Organic Midnight Moo Chocolate Syrup doesn't look too bad to me, if that's the one you're referring to, unless they've changed it.
