The draw of genuine Makita batteries is that they are seriously high quality, safe, and built to last compared to other high end tool brands. Don't buy the aftermarket knock-offs.

Worthy? Or do I hold out for the Dewalt 20V that is closer to $200? Looks like aftermarket compatible Makita batteries are cheap on Amazon, that's a plus.

Own both products for the past few years and both have been amazing. The junk that other brands have put out until possibly recently pales in comparison to the blower. I was unimpressed with any electric blower offering back in the day until I saw a video of this one strapped to a skateboard. I was not disappointed and you won't be either.

Bought 2-set at Home Depot 5 years ago, $156+tax (each set).

Have used several other brands, the Makita is def better. Just wish it has 2 batteries instead of one.
