WORD OF WARNING: I purchased a 6900HX Laptop from ACEMAGIC off EBAY about 4 months ago when they were $475 or so. What I received was a 6800H. I complained, they told me "whoops, sorry we made a mistake" and began negotiating with me to keep it so they didn't have to process a return. We agreed on a reasonable price (basically the price they are asking here for this probably-not-a-6900HX) Smilie

Just go in with eyes open, I doubt you're getting a binned AMD chip but if you order a 6900HX and you get a 6800H, that's called fraud.

I hope Acemagic is actually sending 6900HX's............

Was the 6800h any decent? And to everyone else. Is this 6900 a decent laptop for light gaming? Hows the overall quality of build And battery life. Anything else in this price point that might be better based on brand.

Unfortunately I don't really know the battery life as mine has been plugged in since I bought it. Game wise its the same as any other 6800H. Mine came with 1 stick of DDR5 ram, which will impact its ability to game at 'its best' but this isn't primarily a gaming box for me, but if you youtube 6800H and 680m IGPU's you'll get an idea of what to expect game-wise.

For reference however, it is significantly better than anything else in this price-range from Intel, that is indisputable. Build and screen quality is about what you would expect from a $400-$500 off-brand laptop. Not very bright, not very accurate but at $400 and change I think you'd expect that. You're really paying for the chip, which is pretty capable in both compute and gaming functionality.

I'm not faulting mine, I just wanted to call out that I bought an inexpensive Acemagic 6900HX and received a 6800H and when I asked for the 6900HX I was told they were 'Sold Out". . This was months ago.

Awful, awful company with poor quality products, terrible customer service, and some known debacles like shipping computers with viruses installed.
