Walmart brand (and, to be fair, Amazon's house brand) is significantly more water and I've found I (and others) use about 2x the amount of product when hand washing. Even if that's not the case, you could still get a better value watering down the softsoap to the level that amazon/walmart do. The house brands are a much worse value.

This deal equates to ~$12.61. But there are some differences:
  • costco only one fairly generic scent
  • costco you gotta buy two (obviously from your post)
  • costco does not appear to have an active antibacterial ingredient
The last bit can arguably be good or bad. To some folks, it's good to have that additional way of removing infectious agents from your skin. Some people think of it as a negative, as it's a "chemical" or because it isn't strictly necessary to add to soap. I don't know if there has been consensus on it, but there is a general opinion that use of antibacterial agents (not really used or allowed in soaps anymore) or disinfectants (used in this product) provide better removal of bacteria during daily hand washing.

There is a widespread concern that antibiotics previously used in soap (primarily triclosan) were both a net negative to the health of folks using it, but also increasing the prevalence of bacteria which were able to survive exposure to that and other antibacterial agents. Which is bad. The newly included antibacterials work quite differently - closer to how alcohol works - which attacks the cell structure in a way that bacteria can't evolve around. It's not clear if this encourages resistance, though some research suggests it does. The EU has banned these ingredients in consumer handsoaps similar to how the USA has already banned triclosan.

All that said? I personally try to avoid anything with an active antibacterial agent as, IMO, the negatives significantly outweigh the possible positives.
