Would be great if you get what is pictured. As you can see in the back image shows UV + iTunes for digital. This is shown on Amazon, Gruv, and Blu-ray.com. That is for the older set but the newer set (re-issues) has one (16 digit) code to redeem in Movies Anywhere for all 4 movies. if you're lucky to get the older set, it has 4 individual (12 digit) codes for all 4 movies. The real value is that each 12 digit code can be dual redeem. Once in iTunes for 4K digital and a 2nd time in Movies Anywhere for HD (give it to friends/family). The potential of getting 4K digital for all 4 movies is the real value here.

Thanks for the info! 4K digital on iTunes sounds enticing. Do you know which one between Amazon and Gruv has a higher likelihood of sending an old set? Also, does Amazon allow returns for physical media if the package is unopened (if this is a newer set)?

You probably have a better chance (although pretty low chance) with Amazon as GRUV is a store front for Universal studios and would get the latest & greatest before Amazon would. Amazon is pretty good allowing returns if item is unopened.

Honestly, though, I think all the major stores would have the updated release and eBay & other used markets are probably the better way of getting the older set.

Sorry, im unfamiliar with that "dual redeem" trick. How do you do that? Each code is able to redeemed separately at those outlets individually?

Yes, each of the code can redeem separately at those outlets mentioned. Since the movies are MA compatible it wouldn't make sense for the original owner to do so; as redemption in iTunes will have the movie port over to MA. Hence it's better for the owner to redeem in iTunes (which would upgrade to 4K and port 4K to MA) and give out the same code to friends/family to redeem in their MA account (which would be HD only).

Wow, this is interesting!

Is this trick only for The Mummy movies? Or a specific studio only?

I have some codes I haven't yet redeemed so I am curious if I should try this with those…

Are you suggesting that the redemption in itunes be into an account that isn't linked to MA?

Its a regular Blu-ray so 1080p.

This is true for titles that have 4K available in Apple platform. Universal titles (ie Back to the Future, Fast & Furious, The Mummy, The Purge, etc) all work this way. Other studios that do not support MA like Lionsgate and Paramount will also dual redeem with older 12 digit code, typically one direct redeem in Apple and one in Vudu. Newer 16 digit code, however, is one redeem only (choose either Apple or Vudu). There is a caveat though as some titles do not give out Apple iTunes as an option. A24 and a lot of MGM titles are notoriously no Apple support.

I'm not suggesting an unlinked iTunes account as you need it linked to MA to have the movie port over.

Amazing info!! thank you

I have a bunch of codes that i've gotten from 4k discs that I have redeemed only on iTunes. That means they may still work on another MA account? I will give them to family to see if it works then!

Is there a place to check redemption compatibility per title? I'm aware of 4ksheet.com. But are you familiar with another checker?

In terms of whether it remains working in MA that is easy to test. Just input the code in a browser/tab where you're not logged in. If it's good it will show the movie (and quality) and ask you to login for redemption.

You legend! thank your for all these excellent tips! Where did you figure out such amazing ideas?

So generally with new codes its always best to test via iTunes first, yeah?
