Also managed to get a brand new Z790 at an open box price at Microcenter and can sell my old setup to recoup the entire cost of this upgrade for some reason (9900k's are still in high demand, I guess) so woohoo!

An F chip without the iGPU. So maybe all the sales are an overstock issue on chips they can't get rid of for some reason. I would have thought the K chips were good sellers, but maybe that heat issue put a kink in their popularity.

Honestly just get this and undervolt it and it will act like the non k version. If you need a burst of power for some tasks, this can do it unlike the non k version.
I thought about that, but is there an easy way to keep the undervolted settings in the BIOS whenever it is updated?
