I am retired and can travel pretty much anytime but 24 hours before the flight is not for me. How can a person plan anything? If it works for you, it's a great deal.

Upvoting cause it's a good deal still IMO if you can use it and you're getting an extra 8 months "free". That said, here are some things to keep in consideration.
  • You can only confirm domestic flights the day before departure, and international flights 10 days before—which makes it very hard to plan ahead unless you pay extra for "early booking."
  • "Last seat availability" is not guaranteed—so you could be stuck if flights are already close to full.
  • There are extensive blackout dates during holidays, long weekends, and peak travel times—basically the periods when most people want to travel.
    • 2025: October 9-10, 12-13; November 25, 26, 29-30; December 1, 20-23, 26-31.
    • 2026: January 1, 3-4, 15-16, 19; February 12-13, 16; March 13-15, 20-22, 27-29; April 3-6, 10-12; May 21-22, 25; June 25-28; July 2-6, September 3-4, 7; October 8-9, 11-12; November 24-25, 28-30; December 19-24; 26-31.
    • 2027: January 1-3, 14-15, 18; February 11-12, 15; March 12-14, 19-21, 26-29; April 2-4.
  • Bags, seat selection, and other add-ons are not included—and Frontier charges fees for nearly everything.
  • You'll still pay taxes, fees, and $0.01 per segment every time you book.
  • Frontier's route network is smaller than major carriers, so your options may be limited depending on your home airport.
  • Since you can't plan far in advance (without fees), it's risky for weddings, business trips, or anything with fixed dates.
How much if we need to confirm tickets early? 24 hours is too short

There's an early booking fee but I'm having difficulty finding an example of what it might be. It's possible it may very based on ticket cost for that flight but I'm unsure.

A comment on this facebook thread from a year ago says "Normal flight from LAS-CLE Nonstop for GoWild is $19. Early booking is $49. The last 3 times I have tried to book this flight it has been unavailable within the 24hr window."

I believe they introduced the program in 2022 Smilie I think they're generally doing okay right now though from what I can tell they had some operating losses earlier this year.

It's a tough time for budget airlines. Spirit just filed their second bankruptcy and Frontier has not had a profitable year since before COVID. In fact, they've lost something like $400m. They need the upfront cash this deal provides, they aren't having this sale because things are going well.

But like I said, it's still a good deal and worth the risk if you plan to fly with them a lot or live near one of their hubs. If I lived in Denver I'd jump on this in a second.

Too young to retire and travel anywhere
Too old to just get on a flight 24 hours in advance and sleep in a tent
Just the right age for this deal to be cheap

Seems very scammy if you read the fine print and realize 99.9% of people cannot use this without paying extra fees

Has any body been able to maximize this deal? It seems like it's been around for a few years (somebody mentioned 2022) so it anyone a strong advocate and can share how they've used it?

Unfortunately the type of people who fly spirit are the same who book carnival cruises.

Does anyone know how this works for round trips ? Can I book a round trip 24 hours in advance of my first flight if available? Or do I need to book the return trip separately 24 hours before the return date? In other words, is there a chance I would get stuck somewhere for days if the return flights are full?

I got my family of five passes last year when they went on sale, it's me, my wife and our three kids, one being a toddler. we used the pass extensively during the summer. we have a place in Atlanta, which is one of their major hubs. took a trip to NYC, Orlando, and Puerto Rico, then back to California. it's much harder for us to use it now that school is back in session for our kids, but the passes already paid for themselves over the summer.

you'd have to pay the advance booking cost, which varies but yes you absolutely can get stuck. I always look ahead in the app for which flights I can book early for the extra fee, so I know which ones are go wild eligible and then at the stroke of midnight the day before the flight I go and book them. we stayed four days in Orlando because I saw that there were not any flights that we wanted to take (some we could have done but they had long layovers) for a few days, so we just planned accordingly.

On the return trip, you can book in advance, but it will be higher charge. It is cheaper when booking 24 hours before the departure. For example, I booked a return flight from LAX to JFK for 59.00. I wanted to ensure I got back on certain date. If I had waited 24 hours before the date of my departure, the same flight would have been 16.00. The risk is the 16.00 Go Wild flight might be sold out. There is a limited amount of Go Wild seats. If you are very flexible, it's worth it.
