Has any body been able to maximize this deal? It seems like it's been around for a few years (somebody mentioned 2022) so it anyone a strong advocate and can share how they've used it?
I have used this flying between Los Angeles and New York at least 5 times. I stay at my mom's place in Queens. It has been worth it for me. It's not for everyone. If you are flexible, then yes, it is worth it. For me, it worked out.

just curious.....

if Frontier ceases operations before the end of 2026...

can I file a dispute with my credit card(AmEx, for example) and get my $299 back?

The trick is to login and book on midnight 2 days before your flight. For example, if you're planning to fly out Thursday, you should ideally book on Wednesday at midnight.
Dumb question but midnight Denver time or your local time?

This seems like the ideal setup, people who don't need to be anywhere physically for work/school (remote/retired/etc.) and want to travel frequently to stay with friends and family.

Paying for last minute hotel stays of unknown length or flights to get home in time will quickly spoil this deal for anyone else.

After flying with United on an international flight, they will have to drag me to a seat to fly with them again.
Oh my god, I was rolling on the floor with your comment laugh out loud
You must have had a nightmare experience with them. Would love to hear more so that, we can learn something from your experience.

Anyone know how to buy this as a gift or for kids?
I would not. Read the other replies. It takes a lot of patience and flexibility to take advantage of these deals. Most likely not going to line up with the schools holidays.

Kids are home schooled. We are rather free spirits. I'm retired/hands off business owner, wife is stay at home mom. We take lots of trips and schedule them around less busy times for the best deals and smaller crowds.

Not worth it.

Just did a random search from my local airport to MCO. I am not a loyalty member. I didn't log in any account. This is the standard fare (click Your Cart and see the breakdown):

$0.91 Airfare
$71.07 Taxes & Carrier Imposed Fees

With this "deal", you would get $0.01 airfare and save $0.90? (Taxes and fees still apply) Their "airfare" is no more than a marketing illusion while their revenue is from fees.

Also their carrier imposed fees is unqiue to them and costs $23 per person each way and $46 round trip. This can be avoided by booking in person at the airport.

Frontier not only no longer does service out of my local airport, but the routes from the airport in my general area that they do still operate are genuinely the WORST I've ever seen. So based on that alone it's an immediate no for me.

And that doesn't even touch on the excessive fees, constant delays, uncomfortable seats, poor service, extensive blockout dates, inability to book flights more than 24 hours ahead of time, etc.
