Note that the pink one doesn't come with the ankle strap. You will have to buy it separately.

I bought the pink one when it was about the same price on spring. It's my first inflatable SUP so I don't have much to compare to but it is better than I was expecting. Once inflated at the proper pressure it fairly rigid.

Bought the pink one for a family member during the last sale in April. Great for a beginner, they've used it about a dozen times. It doesn't come with an ankle strap but I contacted customer service and they sent me one for free.

Can this handle a 200 lb person or is this kid size?

From having bought cheap inflatable SUP's (Stand Up Paddleboards) previously:

The pump will be the weak link. If you're expecting to inflate/deflate every time you take it out you will quickly find you need to buy a replacement pump. Electric/car battery SUP pumps are available, and they are different from car/bike tire pumps - they need a lot of volume and lower pressure. Highly recommend one if you're taking this out to locations that you drive to.

Maintaining the SUP at the recommended PSI is key for the best handling and rigidity. When the pressure drops a couple of PSI below recommended (and it WILL bleed off pressure just sitting in the garage) you'll notice it; it gets substantially less rigid and harder to control.

Also recommend getting some replacement fins to keep as spares, ESPECIALLY if kids are using it - the fins are vulnerable to getting dinged/cracked up from the SUP being dragged or dropped on the ground.

I bought one during the last deal and have taken it out 3 times. This last time I found it has a pinhole leak in it somewhere. I have been very careful not to be rough with it.

Any particular reason or feedback as far as why this one is so terrible?

Is it reasonable to get cheap SUPs like this and treat them as disposables and just get another one when they break or better off spending 5X or more $$ for a more expensive one? What's the better strategy for casual use? more expensive boards worth the price?

That's my strategy!! My kids are still small and use them so I load up on 90 dollar boards. If one breaks I got spares. Went through two seasons and haven't had an issue yet, 2 spares still in boxes. We do use them in the lake at our cabin, so weren't not inflating and deflating them continuously though

You kind of answered your own question. It depends on how frequently you use them and where you use them. Most punctures are going to happen in shallow, rock filled shores. And if you live close to a lake and see yourself using it several times a week in summer, then buying one nice paddle board versus multiple cheap ones makes sense. But if you're only going to take it out once a month, and you aren't really sure if paddle boarding is a hobby you want to take up seriously, then these budget boards are great. And if you do find yourself more into it after trying it, then worst case you buy a nicer board and have a spare that your friends can use.
