I have Walmart + with free delivery and this is one of the better flavors.. I toss in chopped broccoli and mushrooms in chunky soup to dilute the salt. I still have to go to Safeway in store to get fresh vegies.. delivery shoppers suck and the drivers get lost half the time.
If you're going to the trouble of adding fresh vegetables, you're better off just starting with a reduced sodium broth. Add your veggies, noodles of choice, and some Vegeta to taste. For protein, get a store rotisserie chicken. Have that for your day one meal, then use the left over meat for soup. Should be healthier, tastier, and roughly the same price per serving. Just much more time consuming.

Doesn't matter if you buy in bulk. They're charging $4.93 shipping for each can. I just checked.
Well, that figures. They always try to get you somehow. 😞

I just got back from Nam after 7 years there, and many grub nights where I used to day dream about my Chunky Soup pantry back in the Bay Area. Safeway would half-price sales and I would stock up. The beef ones, sirloin burger, creamy corn chowda...These are not Michelin meals, but they were perfect.

I want the big case deals. I find it silly and package wasteful when I buy 3 measly cans. Wasting the Amazon driver time for such a cheap delivery. Even the 8 can deals seem weird to me. I get shrinkflation but c'mon chunky. 3 soup can deals? Shame because I like how they taste, do enjoy them and like their variety.
  • In for 3 cans and I chose for TWO $2.25 digital reward shipping deal. No idea what to spend that on.
If you live in a reasonably populated city, Amazon has the logistics down tight. And their delivery vans are EVs. I wouldn't worry about that, although the packaging seems excessive. Fortunately, most of that is recyclable.

As for the digital credit:

Probably a few gems in the $2 range, but nothing I can recommend quickly glancing.
$5 seems to be the sweet spot if you can snag 3 more digital credits before they expire. Heat and Tombstone are currently $4.99. One time as a kid, I met Val Kilmer for like 30 seconds when he was filming that Batman movie he made. He told me not to watch this piece of crap and watch Heat or Tombstone instead. Great advice that has stuck with me to this day.
I bought "The Descent" for only $1.99 with my credit. I already have it on DVD and on my portable hard drive (DVD quality) but now I got it in HD.
Thanks for the list on sale. I was wondering what to buy but didn't know how to find a sort finder in movie price. Heat is great! I got it on DVD. I think I have like $6 left in balance now.
  • I see a lot of solid movies in the $5 range. I am gonna stack up my digital rewards and build a digital collection like those PC free game collection. I don't need lot of my packages to be delivered ASAP so get the digital credit.

funny I just stocked up on some $1 deals at safeway for condensed soups with lower salt! I can add my BBQ pork leftovers to the Bean and Bacon low salt. I add leftover BBQ chicken strips my other chunky flavors except that clam chowder. I don't really cook, solo and dark green salads mostly, soups are just backup plan between trips. I saved 43% at safeway today.. probably spend that on Powerball. Big Grin

Check your local Kroger ad, if you have one nearby.

In the Dayton, OH area, they're save $1 each when you buy 5 or more, making them $2.79 - $1 = $1.79 apiece.
