So I'll ask it... from my checks it looks like this is a relatively solid deal on the capacity here... I'm wondering if I paired this with Will Prowse's recommended inverter... seems like a solid offgrid option. Any opinions on the pricing and whether its worth it?

You mentioned Will, so you've already done your homework. It has been cheaper before, but this is still a pretty solid price overall.

did you find an online tutorial for this? I'm going to purchase a 12000xp and was debating over these batteries and eg4 batteries

This is one of eco-worthy's few UL-rated products. That question seems to come up a lot in these threads.

I was recently told by Signature Solar and Shop Solar that the new code for new installs requires the inverter and battery to be certified together as one unit and even though this battery is UL certified by itself you can't get it approved for a grid tied application.

Does this need charge controller for solar panel or can the panels be connected directly?

You will need a inverter.
Something like this deal.

With these types of systems, if I needed to add or replace one 10 years from now, how likely is it that eco-worthy will still make a compatible unit?

That's just hostile (benefiting the big manuf. and some elec co. that are anti-solar). Oh well, screw them-- if you've got the batteries you have much less incentive to be tied to grid anyway

Yes and no: it seems that for efficiency/safety/battery health (and other reasons, I'm still learning) you want the minimum number of BMS units and/or you want them talking to each other (so ideally just a few large BMS units that also communicate with each other to keep all cells in system balanced). I'm just a layman getting up to speed in this area so please fact-check me, experts

that is a very tricky question because just earlier this year I bought 4 V2 from them and not even a month and a half 2 months later they come out with V3 which is not compatible with V2 so now I'm stuck with them and not able to upgrade
