This bike doesn't have the motor or the battery to let you do 30+ mph so no worries.
All the specs seem to be excellent for an ebike around $500.
I have 10 ebikes and an ebike with rear suspension makes a huge difference in comfort. (If you don't have rear suspension you can get a seatpost suspension like a Thudbuster but it costs $200 and will raise the seat height considerably)
There is absolutely no need to buy a more expensive bike unless you need it for mountain biking or cycling with lycras.

I've got a question since you sound like you know what you're talking about lolI'm a 6 foot, 215 guy with a 3.5 mile one way commute to work. Is this decent for that?

Seen 3 kids in my neighborhood get run over - mostly negligence - and all boys - who I see all the time passing me up on the roads when I am doing 45 MPH.........they also love to show off - popping wheelies etc.......
There are no kids going past you at forty five on this ebike as they are half that fast. If three children got run over by motorists in your neighborhood that is on the drivers and your neighborhood and they should be prosecuted and charged accordingly. People in large machines known to kill thousands and thousands have an extreme obligation and duty when pedestrians and bike riders are around. That is set in law and even if child runs out between cars you can and will be found at fault. I be highly concerned about who your jurisdiction lets drive cars. Tell us where this neighborhood is so we can stay away and see if the motorits that killed the kids receive any justice.

Check your facts. Accidents happen and kids here go too fast and don't check for cars in the evenings as they pull out of streets and driveways. The 3 I saw were evening accidents. I'm not saying they all eBike users drive reckless but many do.

As for the one doing 45+ I checked the car MPH and I was doing 45 and they past me up. He was doing at least 55 MPH - maybe modified bikes? But 100% doing faster than 45 MPH.

Check your law. When a kid does not check for car it is still the motorists responsibility just like if a kid or even toddler walks out into the road. Kids on bikes get killed by cars it is not the other way around. Almost all motorist law will hold the operator of the large powerful machine that is more likely to kill to a higher standard and at fault. People going 20 in 20 zone have had that happen. The larger burden is placed on the person in the machine more known and more likely to kill. Very few bike riders suffer death when hitting something they are usually hit and killed.

The two most recent incidents I see both ebike riders were "hit" by a motor vehicle. If a motor vehicle "hits" something it is almost by definition the motor vehicles fault. Maybe we should be calling for more regulation of motor vehicle drivers that hit versus the people that are hit. Pedestrians are also hit with great regulatory.

Maybe a gas motorbike? There is no ebike doing that. You may be confusing ebikes with a real and big problem I see all the time. I live in Maryland and they do for some reason let kids and adults ride unlicensed gas powered motorcycles and ATVs even though downtown streets past city hall and the police department. They have basically decriminalized that as they have no stop policy and are not allowed to chase them.

We also have a problem with about 1 in 5 motorists being behind the wheel of car without license, registration or insurance. My state joined some coalition to make sure to help people that do that to continue to drive and feel it unfair to take someone's license.

I have not seen problem one with ebike riders.
