After owning a fire TV, I'd advice to stay away from it.

I bought the Toshiba version of this Fire TV. Its fine. I did NOT connect it to the internet and it let me finish setup. im using a Apple TV for the smart functions.

So it's pretty much anything using fire for the streaming services, and not just this particular model tv?

I own this. Got it for about the same price a while ago. I use it in our kids playroom. Picture is just ok. Although I wouldnt recommend this when better tvs are out there for just a little more. Look at the Hisense R6 instead. It has a better picture and fully array dimming.

I have multiple OS's around the TV's in the house and I use none of them. I either plug in an Apple TV or the GoogleTV box that Wallmart sells. Really wish they would start making dumb TV's again. The only time I connect my TVs directly to the internet is when there is a firmware update I actually need (like a Vizio one a while back that added VRR)
