I am comparing this one with the ASUS Deal. Any recommendations which is a better laptop? I will be paying the same price for both - ASUS (open-box) and Dell (new).

Needed for college work with light gaming.

Thank you OP. I've been trying to find a light gaming laptop for my son. I still don't know if this is capable but I saw ryzen 7 and assume it's decent enough. My other son has been using my wife's laptop with ryzen 5 and it does fine for Roblox and Minecraft.

Last I checked, the 5800U was still a solid laptop CPU. U-type CPUs aren't meant to be performance powerhouses to begin with, so keep your expectations realistic. Vega graphics might be meh, but most iGPUs except the 140V/T, 780m/890m and 8060S/8050S aren't going to be meaningful past basic tasks or old games to begin with!
