So you can get the Edge + deal, get a new number and then use that to port in for this deal?

$119.99 for the Edge
then
$99.99 with port in (as opposed to $199.99 w/o port in) + $65 1st month = 164.99 S25 FE

$284.98 for both the Edge and S25 FE

Correct. You can also sim unlck the Edge with a $3-5 code, no waiting period required. Code is instantly delivered.

If you don't need it unlockable....isn't the S25FE a much better phone?
Marginally, at best. Slightly faster processor (but a worse modem). Will get updates for longer, but it only has 128gb of storage and the Moto supports unlocking the bootloader and the Samsung doesn't. Sim unlocking is a huge thing - it's why the other thread is 65 pages. People want unlocked, high end phones.

According to unlocklocks, they can unlock this in 3-10 days for $70
only way to unlock is server sided and must wait 365 days on Metro unless they are going to make fake military deployment letter.

Not Necessarily. Although true, Samsung is a better manufacturer overall(updates, security, qc) unfortuneatly it's not the case here or for much longer. The S25 FE has the newest Exynos chip while true it's not bad, It doesn't compare in the minimum or barely in preformancw to the Relatively Old Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Additional from what I understand the Exynos has different architecture so it supports and works differently. Besides that I suppose you could say screen, battery, memory are relatively similar

Does anyone know what the approximate trade-in value for these will be towards S26 Ultra?

Samsung doesn't accept trade ins of the S24 FE, for some reason. No way to figure out what the value will be when they don't even accept last year's model.

need this on t mobile. Hopefully it does work. keep us updated!
unless they changed this year, they stopped T-Mobile functionality about 3 years ago. Very doubtful they would bring it back

not really a great deal considering more or less same level of service on visible is $35/month and you need to be subscribed for a year for this to unlock.

Same processor used in the S24 international models. Is pretty fast and should hold up well for a few years. Good deal. You'll be able to flip it for well over what you paid a year from now once unlocked.

Excellent deal even if you can't use it much for a year. Should have good trade in value later on too.
Samsung typically isn't very friendly and inclusive with accepting FEs for trade in. Other retailers may but TIV for FEs are almost always much much lower than normal models.

They're giving $400 for the S24 FE towards the S25 FE right now.

Honestly, the Moto Edge Plus deal is better, on account of the phone being instantly unlockable.
How do I unlock Motorola?
