all of the specs are effectively the same until you get to the os updates. the edge+ is only getting 3 updates from 2023. and the s25fe will have android 23/ one ui 15. different world over there.
the chip is also better on the s25fe. only downside here is the storage.

this is the edge+ final year of os update. it is already eol

Yes, I did "activate Metro and install its eSIM PRIOR to inserting T-Mobile SIM".

After disabling Metro ESim, and using T Mobile Sim, the APN is sth like "T Mobile 4G".

Disable Metro ESim, and insert T Mobile Sim, reboot, I do see a T Mobile splash screen.

Using Metro ESim, I have Metro splash screen.

Try these steps to see if they work. These are not tested. Report back the results.

1. Disable Metro eSIM, remove T-Mobile SIM, and turn OFF Wi-Fi if it's on. Restart the phone.

2. Once restarted, turn ON airplane mode, insert T-Mobile SIM card, wait 30 seconds, and then turn OFF airplane mode.

3. Wait for the phone to ask to be restarted. Restart the phone.

4. Once restarted, turn ON Wi-Fi and wait 5-10 minutes for the phone to register with T-Mobile. Check your APN. It should be fast. T-Mobile .com

5. For Network operators setting, it should be "Select automatically"

6. Turn OFF Wi-Fi and restart the phone.

7. Once restarted, test your service on T-Mobile and report back.

Also, another question, did you debloat the phone using ADB and online debloating list(s)?

T-Mobile sees the signal with an active T-Mobile sim but however, after 30 seconds later or so, it goes to no bars and the phone is locked back with Metro. Looks like Metro had patched the Samsung's locked phones loophole now. Metro automatically activated the phone's eSIM and blocks the physical T-Mobile sim if you don't activate the service within a week or so.

Previously in the good old years, Samsung locked Metro phones can be used with a T-Mobile SIM cards from day one.

Pity, oh well. Time to trade in this phone when a SD comes around.

Can you share your step-by-step activation procedure starting with the moment you opened the box?
Opened the box and inserted the TMO sim. Turn on the phone and TMO splashscreen comes on. The setup screen comes on and forces a reboot and installation of an update. After reboot and setting up without wifi, phone say it isn't register and only emergency calls only. Tried it with a active/non-active sim and both times it wouldn't register. They made have patched it up during the first bootup.

I also think Metro may have patched whatever works in the past. But it would be great to see more reports whether the phone works with T-Mobile or not to be conclusive. I'll update my other post to reflect the new changes. If you haven't installed Metro eSIM, in the meantime, I would recommend you to connect via Wi-Fi and see if the phone will eventually register with T-Mobile.

How has everyone's experience with porting a number from Boost for this deal?
It went fine for me. Called Boost for port out pin on 9/22 and then placed order, received phone on 9/25, then followed SlickShoe966's instructions for T-Mobile and Metro activation. On Metro network now.

If my Metro shipped order arrives late after my Boost port out PIN goes past it's 4 day PIN timer, will I need a new Boost port out PIN? or is the port already locked in to Metro?

is there a easy way to get the account number and pin from infimobile? tried calling and getting a busy signal. also tried via chat support with a generic "they'll contact me in 24 hours."
EDIT: they texted me the port out details 15 mins later
How did you get real chat support? All I see is the AI chatbot

I cannot port in numbers into metro since last night. I have tried ported in numbers from Xfinity, and Boost. I got this error:

Sorry, we couldn't reserve your number.
We're weren't able to connect with your carrier to get your number reserved. Please continue with a new number, or visit a store to complete your number transfer. Promotions may vary in-store.

Is that problem on Metro side?

Anyone else have issue when device was received but not able to activate, activate thing just stays grayed out, and it still not updated as delivered after a week. Chat support created a ticket, still no resolution though.

How is the signal strength and call quality of the s25fe compared to the snapdragon?

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like there is some kind of check on T-Mobile server side that may prevent the phone being used on T-Mobile. I don't fully understand it so I can't help you much beyond this point.
