mixed reviews on the Soleyin filament, but hyper seems to be fine. Seems like a good price on the dryers too. I was debating the Pi X4 that's still $118, and it seems to be a better dryer so...it's a tough pick.

real question - what is it about the x4 that's better? i have one of the two roll units in this deal and was shopping for the x4 and was about to pull the trigger on this deal until i read your post

i assumed(?) power usage may be lower with one 4 roll than two double units

just on paper it has a lot of automatic features that the 2 bay one does not. Auto dimming, auto restart after humidity rises too much, auto silent mode, better overheating protection, and it gets hotter (if that matters for you). I don't have a dryer at all and have been debating if I even need one since I've only been printing a few months and haven't had noticable issues on PLA or PETG (although Matte PLA has been a pain, idk if it's a humidity issues). It also seals better for storing rolls.The 2 roll one is more compact and beyond that, doesn't seem to offer anything that the X4 doesn't have or doesn't improve upon. from my POV, if you have the funds and the space and the need, then the X4 is the superior pick. My biggest debate is whether I need one at all and how it will interact with my Bambu AMS Lite.

i picked up a 2 spool unit +2kg instead for $90, but thanks for giving me the idea.

This was an awesome deal. 2 dryers + 10 different colors rolls of the RFID PLA for $175? I pulled the trigger. It's $273 now.

thank you for that extraordinarily helpful response!! i was completely unaware of the auto restart and that alone is a great feature to mate up with an ams lite. my neighbor uses a large drybox that feeds his ams lite so i'm confident that it'll work well for you. i print directly from my double unit and it has always worked smoothly

for what it's worth - i didn't have any wet pla/petg for my first few months. i suddenly had failures left and right and someone told me that the pockmarks on my prints were trademark humidity issues.

nowadays i have a ritual where i dry all my rolls and store them in cheapo aliexpress vacuum bags with color change desiccant pouches so i never have to worry about it again

This is really good to know that I may just have some beginners fortune and will be better off just getting a dryer. I'll bite the bullet and get myself a dryer...now,.the X4 or these lol
