My green works 40V does fine edging on these, even on entirely unmaintained sidewalks. Yes it's not as strong as gas (or even corded) but if I don't bite off too much and I'll get an easy 50 feet on a full battery. YMMV I guess.

I bought this and used it once. immediately returned it. It had no power at all and would stop and you have to wait 5-10 seconds for it to be able to turn on again

Been using these for years and they are fine. You will have to go back and forth to do the first run, but it is easily possible. If your soil is wet, you will get mud buildup inside the cover as you cut in, I toss a screwdriver in the pocket to clear it. If you use it every cut, it is fast and works fine on 40v.

Great deal, I have this and love it. It's works with other brands due to universal attachment. I use it with my greenworks 80v system.

Have never had an issue with it stalling like others mentioned.

My original Ryobi 40v power head finally died just a couple of weeks ago (probably 9 years old) and I had to buy one of the new ones. I will say there is a noticeable difference in power and performance, even using the same old batteries. Edger has no problems were it did get jammed up and stopped in the past.

What is the attraction to the edger attachment? I always edge mine with string trimmer. I've not used an actual edger since I was a kid, but that was before there string trimmers existed.

I used this on 40v to dig trench to run 12v landscaping wire in my backyard, and it worked flawlessly
