The 82v looks just like 80v. Can anyone confirm the batteries are different???
Yes, they're different and not cross-architecture compatible. Per Greenworks. "Greenworks batteries are interchangeable among products within the same voltage line."

I bought this when it was on sale last time. ALL 80V/82V Greenworks/Kobalt/Masterforce batteries are compatible, however you will need to cut the side slots larger to fit, thus voiding any battery warranty. I have a handful of various ones I swap between tools, including this one. The 82V series are their "commercial" ones with more power and shorter warranties.

Some of the Greenworks zero turn riding mowers have a skinny rail so the 80v and 82v can both fit. Cannot remember if it was the upper or lower rails. Can you share your experiencing with this. The 82v has an anti-kickback system according to the Greenworks page, while the 80v doesn't list it. Your thoughts?
